Dr. Miles is Board Certified by:
1. American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ABFPRS)
which is a certification examination for proficiency in cosmetic and
reconstructive surgery of the face,
head, and neck. Is is a graduate
sub-specialty board examination only open to surgeons who are already board
certified by a board which is a member of the American Board of Medical
Specialties (ABMS). This extra graduate board certification is obtained by
showing personal surgical experience performing 100 cosmetic and reconstructive
facial procedures in two years and passing a rigorous two day written and oral
examination.

2. American Board of Cosmetic Surgery (ABCS) which is the only certifying
board examination strictly devoted to examining a surgeon's skills in cosmetic
surgery of the face and body. It is recognized by the AMA and is a
graduate sub-specialty board beyond the level of the ABMS residency boards of
conventional teaching hospitals. Only surgeons who are already board
certified by an ABMS Board are eligible to take this examination. In
addition, the surgeon must show that he/she has personally accomplished 1000
cosmetic surgical operations in 5 years, with 200 in the year prior to
certification, and must then take a rigorous two day oral and written
examination.

3. American Board of ORL/Head and Neck Surgery which is a board
certification in specialty surgery of the ears, nose, and throat, along with
major reconstructive surgery of the face and neck for cancer, facial trauma,
congenital deformities, etc. This Board Certification follows one year
after a conventional teaching hospital residency program overseen by the
American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS). It requires passing a
rigorous two day oral and written examination. Some cosmetic facial
surgery is included in the examination and is part of most residency training
