CO2 Laser Resurfacing and Chemical Peel Procedures

Dr. Frenzel has a unique opportunity to help patients through an entire journey of bariatric and post-bariatric cosmetic surgeries.  As a double board certified surgeon, he helps North Texas patients find their confidence and stay healthy.

At Advanced Cosmetic Surgery, there are a wide variety of surgical and non-surgical procedures designed to provide patients with the flawless skin and a beautiful silhouette.  CO2 laser resurfacing is just one of your options.  Using carbon dioxide, this laser treats fine wrinkles, sun-damaged skin, and scars as well as age spots, lines around the mouth and eyes, and even some precancerous skin growths.

The CO2 laser works by emitting a burst of energy that vaporizes the skin cells with extreme precision.  During the procedure, the laser penetrates to a controlled depth to leave patients with smooth, youthful skin.

To see if CO2 laser resurfacing is right for you, schedule a consultation with Dr. Frenzel and discuss your problem areas.  Looking at the thickness and texture of your skin, your skin imperfections, and your specific skin type, Dr. Frenzel will determine if you are a good candidate.

After the CO2 laser procedure, patients should expect redness.  While this will fade, makeup can be applied immediately.  The result of this resurfacing procedure is to improve your complexion.

Often, the CO2 laser resurfacing procedure is used as an alternative to chemical peels or dermabrasion.  However, Dr. Frenzel does offer chemical peels.  During this procedure, layers of dead cells are exfoliated and replaced by healthier cells.  The purpose of a chemical peel is to allow your skin’s natural tightness to resurface.

There are difference formulations to meet unique skin renewal needs.  Dr. Frenzel will meet with you before the procedure to determine whether you need a deep peel or light peel, so that you get the most of your experience.  Common chemical peel formulas include glycolic acid, pyruvic acid, Trichloracetic acid (TCA), phenol, Jessner’s solution, and alpha-hydroxy acid.

To begin the procedure, gentle skin cleansing will relax and prepare for the chemical peeling.  Then, using a cotton application, the solution is applied to the skin in a uniform manner and allows it to penetrate for a specified period of time.

Quick and easy, the chemical peel is a viable option for those looking to rejuvenate their skin.  After the procedure, the outermost damaged layer of skin is removed resulting in smoother skin for a glowing complexion.  It is common for some flaking, redness, and crusting to take place for about one week, however, makeup can be applied right away.

The CO2 laser resurfacing and chemical peel are two skin rejuvenating options offered at Advanced Cosmetic Surgery.  With these procedures, you have an opportunity to enjoy a flawless complexion.
